First Annual Caribbean Cultural Summit in Virginia (2007/01/27)
Southeastern Virginia (specifically the HamptonRoads/Tidewater region) has for many years been undergoing a burgeoning and sizeable growth in it's West Indian community. With this growth, the need for a voice of unity was one that was a long time coming.
On the 27th of January 2007, a major step was accomplished for this vision as finally the 1st Annual Caribbean Cultural Summit was organized. Noted Caribbean Organizations and community leaders were all invited for an all day discussion as ideas were given as to what direction the community should take for positive progress.
Below is a list of the invited organizations and guests:--
Hon. Dr. Izben Williams, Permanent Representative of St. Kitts and Nevis to the U.S. and O.A.S. Embassy of St.Kitts and Nevis (Guest/Keynote Speaker)
